I actually thought that maybe it was fake because the quality and details were just not the same. Because of the cost I didn't want my husband to know I was disappointed. I stared at her for a day feeling like a little let down. I unwrapped it slowly but when I pulled off the top of the box I remember thinking the picture of the doll on the box is prettier than the doll inside. Still excited and couldn't wait to add my new Barbie to my collection. I have to be honest the pictures I saw didn't have the razzle dazzle of the 20 but I bet this wasn't the final product. Then some emails of leaked sketches and blurred pictures. I started getting emails about how the 2021 doll was coming with the addition of a male doll too. Another years wait but I was already excited about the 2021 doll. These dolls got their very own shelf with lighting. I've seen pictures online but again seeing the details in person had me in awe. 2020 came and when I got the delivery of the new doll I was so excited. Within 24 hours I was signed up to several websites including Mattel even though it would be another year for the next Dia De Muertos Barbie was released. This one doll had me hooked and I knew I would forever be a collector of this particular Barbie. I was not prepared for my reaction to the best fanciest gift I've ever gotten.
Then for the holidays my coworkers collectively presented me with a gift. Cool but I'm not a Barbie girl and didn't think much more about it. In 2019 my coworkers printed and posted the articles that Mattel was coming out with a Dia De Muertos Barbie. I'm not a Barbie girl but I love everything Day Of Dead. I have all of them now and I can't wait for the next one 2022.
